The My Mia table was created by the designer Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance exclusively for Habitat. Inheriting from art nouveau, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance draws from the universality of nature to create shapes that make sense. The French designer also asserts that the notion of total artwork is now fundamental to contemporary design.
The My Mia table is made from ash, which gives it a pretty colour with pearly reflections as well as great resistance. This extendible table can sit up to eight guests. Because a table with extensions is not necessarily rectangular, its geometric shape changes according to its dimensions. Its rounded curves give it softness and a very welcoming appeal.
Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance also created the My Mia chair and therefore a connection between his two creations.
Born in 1974 in the South of France, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance educated himself a multidisciplinary designer. Starting with sculpture, he initially wanted to recreate the bond he has with nature with his own hands. Drawing emotion through the utility of shapes then became an obvious purpose. He often compares his approach to ‘niwa’, the small garden at the heart of the traditional Japanese house.Dimensions & Composition
