A collection of exclusive photo prints: "A look at the world as it really is". A Crystal Galerie, AFP & Habitat partnership. DESCRIPTION OF THE PRINT: Cruise on Ha Long Bay in a traditional junk ship.
A junk ship drifts on Ha Long Bay, offering its passengers one of the most prized views of Vietnam, 8 July 2007. Ha Long Bay, located in the Golf of Tonkin in the province of Quang Ninh in north-eastern Vietnam, is 165 km from the capital of Hanoi. Covering a surface area of 43,400 hectares, and home to more than 1,600 mostly uninhabited and untouched islets, the bay forms a spectacular seascape of limestone pillars. Ha Long Bay was established as a historical and cultural relict and classified as a National Landscape Site in 1962. © PHILIPPE LOPEZ / AFP
