An Indian woman shapes earthen pitchers before the drought, in Allahabad, 13 April 2010. Earthen pitchers are used to keep water cool, generally in middle class families. Allahabad is the city where the Ganges, Yamuna and a third (mythical, underground) sacred river meet, its original name comes from its position at the Sangam (or union) of these riversl.
